In celebration of Europe Day in Crimea an award ceremony was held for the winners of the contests – “Crimean Mosaic: A Great Diversity” and the “Crimean Art Competition for the International Day of Friendship” (also known as the “My Friend” competition, held from January 20th to March 20th 2011). The contests were created for school pupils and university students to submit their amateur video, photography and art work on the theme of cultural diversity.

The ceremony took place in the Central Park of Culture and Leisure (on Salgir promenade, opposite the Tchaikovsky Music College). In this space a symbolic European village was created where the creative work of each student was on display for all to see.
